Overview of first week

by Steve on August 8, 2010

It’s been hectic – that’s the only way to describe the first week of Utility Warehouse activity – Training on Monday in Halifax, First presentation on Tuesday to a business colleague, organising the contents of the Starter pack, meeting with Mark on Saturday morning and finally today, Sunday, I signed my self up for the Discount Club!

Mind you – the form took a bit of negotiating, I ruined two before getting the third one right! That’s been scanned and sent off, so we’ll see what happens next!

The meeting on Saturday morning with Mark was interesting too – one of the questions I asked was, ‘how have you done it, how did you organise yourself in the beginning’?

Turns out it’s not a case of going hell for leather, it’s much more productive apparently to do a manageable amount of activity every day – So I’m going to try that as a first step to success.  Rather than diving in feet first and getting bogged down and fed up right at the beginning!

I’ve started thinking about my daily activity plan for next week, later tonight  I’ll jot down what needs doing, get it into the diary and review it again next Sunday. Could be interesting reading, I’m a master procrastinator!

I listened to a conference call about this very topic too, downloaded from the extranet – gave me some practical pointers about getting started.

Next week looks entertaining – I have to set up a meeting to sign up the business colleague I was practicing on earlier in the week and there’s a Businesslink networking event on Thursday.

Here we go again!
